The BMW 7 Series continues to represent the German luxury carmaker’s flagship sedan philosophy, combining executive-class comfort with advanced technology and strong performance. In India, the latest-generation 7 Series is positioned firmly in the ultra-premium sedan category, competing with models such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Audi A8. BMW’s current India website lists the 7 Series from around ₹1.95 crore, ex-showroom.
The BMW 7 Series gets a large and commanding road presence. Its illuminated kidney grille, crystal-effect headlights and long, flowing body lines give the sedan a distinctive appearance. The design combines traditional BMW styling elements with a more modern luxury-focused approach.
The available BMW Iconic Glow crystal headlights further enhance the car’s visual appeal, particularly at night. The large proportions also create a spacious cabin while giving the sedan an unmistakable flagship identity.
Inside, the 7 Series focuses heavily on rear-seat comfort. BMW offers Executive Lounge Seating with a continuous leg rest, allowing rear passengers to relax during long journeys. The cabin also features premium materials, sophisticated lighting and advanced digital technology.
One of the biggest highlights is the BMW Curved Display, which integrates the driver information display and central infotainment system. Voice and touch controls provide access to multiple vehicle functions.
BMW has equipped the 7 Series with technology designed to make the rear cabin feel more like a private lounge. The optional BMW Theatre Screen can turn the rear passenger area into an entertainment space, making the car particularly attractive to chauffeur-driven customers.
The available Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System further raises the luxury experience, with BMW quoting up to 1,965 watts and 36 loudspeakers in the system.
The 7 Series continues to offer conventional powertrains alongside electrified alternatives. BMW India lists petrol and diesel versions using 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. The technical data page lists a 3.0-litre petrol engine producing 280 kW, or 381 hp, and a diesel producing 210 kW, or 286 hp.
This combination allows the 7 Series to deliver strong performance while improving efficiency and smoothness through mild-hybrid assistance.
Comfort remains one of the car’s major strengths. The 7 Series uses two-axle air suspension, which can adjust ride height and help balance comfort, agility and stability. BMW states that the system can increase or decrease ride height by up to 20 mm.
Despite its large dimensions, the sedan is engineered to provide a confident driving experience, making it suitable for both city travel and high-speed highway journeys.

BMW has also expanded the flagship family with the fully electric BMW i7. In India, the i7 starts at around ₹2.10 crore, according to BMW’s current website. The i7 range includes the xDrive60 and performance-focused i7 M70 xDrive.
The i7 M70 xDrive develops 485 kW, or 650 hp, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, while BMW quotes a WLTP range of up to 560 km.
The BMW 7 Series is more than a luxury sedan; it is a technology showcase designed around executive comfort. With powerful engines, air suspension, premium rear-seat features and advanced entertainment technology, it offers a complete flagship experience. The availability of petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions also gives luxury buyers greater choice. For customers seeking a sophisticated sedan that combines performance with first-class comfort, the BMW 7 Series remains one of the most impressive options in its segment.
