Volkswagen Virtus Anniversary Edition Launched in India at Rs 19.19 Lakh: Premium Sedan Gets Exclusive Styling and Sporty Appeal
Volkswagen India has celebrated four successful years of the Volkswagen Virtus premium sedan in the Indian market by launching the Volkswagen Virtus Anniversary Edition. Based on the top-spec GT Plus Sport variant, the limited-edition model carries an ex-showroom price of Rs 19.19 lakh and receives exclusive cosmetic upgrades while retaining its powerful turbo-petrol engine and premium feature list. The special edition has been introduced to mark the growing popularity of the Virtus, which continues to be one of India's most successful premium sedans.
The biggest highlight of the Anniversary Edition is its fresh visual identity. Volkswagen has introduced an exclusive Avocado Pearl exterior paint finish that immediately differentiates the special edition from the standard Virtus range. The new colour is paired with a contrasting black roof, gloss-black alloy wheels, black ORVMs, and subtle Anniversary Edition badging.
The sporty front grille, LED headlamps with DRLs, sleek profile, and coupe-inspired silhouette continue to give the Virtus a premium European appearance. These cosmetic upgrades make the sedan look more exclusive without altering its proven design language.
Inside, the Virtus Anniversary Edition retains the premium cabin of the GT Plus Sport while adding exclusive touches for the limited-run model. The cabin features premium leatherette upholstery, sporty accents, ambient lighting, aluminium pedals, and a digital cockpit.
Volkswagen has equipped the sedan with an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, connected car technology, push-button start, keyless entry, and a premium infotainment system.
The spacious cabin, supportive seats, and high-quality materials continue to make the Virtus one of the most refined sedans in its segment.
Mechanically, the Anniversary Edition remains unchanged. It is powered by Volkswagen's renowned 1.5-litre TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine, producing 150 PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque.
The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, offering quick gear shifts and engaging driving performance. Features such as Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) improve fuel efficiency by deactivating two cylinders during light-load driving conditions.
Volkswagen continues its strong emphasis on safety with the Virtus Anniversary Edition. The sedan comes equipped with:
The Virtus has also earned a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, making it one of the safest sedans available in the Indian market.
Volkswagen has also expanded its genuine accessories portfolio alongside the launch. Customers can now opt for dealership-installed accessories such as a 360-degree camera system, front parking sensors, puddle lamps, and additional styling enhancements for both the Virtus and Taigun, allowing buyers to personalise their vehicles further.
The Volkswagen Virtus Anniversary Edition has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 19.19 lakh. Meanwhile, the overall Virtus range continues to start from around Rs 10.71 lakh, giving buyers multiple options across different variants and powertrains.
The Volkswagen Virtus competes directly with several premium midsize sedans, including:
Among these rivals, the Virtus stands out with its German engineering, turbocharged performance, solid build quality, and driver-focused dynamics.
