Volkswagen Expands the Volkswagen Tayron Life 2026 Line-up
Volkswagen India has officially launched the 2026 Volkswagen Tayron Life, introducing a more affordable version of its flagship premium SUV. Positioned below the Tayron R-Line, the new Life variant is designed to attract buyers looking for German engineering, premium comfort, and advanced safety features at a lower price point. The SUV is priced at ₹41.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and is manufactured locally at Volkswagen's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar facility in Maharashtra.
The new Tayron Life retains Volkswagen's signature SUV styling with a muscular front profile, sleek LED headlamps, an illuminated Volkswagen logo, and an elegant grille design. Stylish 18-inch alloy wheels, sculpted body lines, and premium paint options enhance its visual appeal. While the Life variant is positioned below the R-Line, it still delivers a premium look that stands out in the luxury SUV segment.
Unlike the Tayron R-Line, which is available with additional seating flexibility, the Tayron Life is offered as a five-seater focused on passenger comfort and luggage space. The cabin features premium upholstery, a modern dashboard layout, ambient lighting, and high-quality materials. A large touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver's display, wireless smartphone connectivity, and multiple USB charging ports ensure a connected driving experience.
Powering the Tayron Life is Volkswagen's 2.0-litre TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine, paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and the brand's 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. The engine delivers smooth acceleration, refined performance, and confident highway cruising while maintaining impressive driving dynamics. This powertrain is shared with the higher-spec R-Line, ensuring buyers do not compromise on performance.
Safety remains one of the strongest highlights of the Tayron Life. Volkswagen has equipped the SUV with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and several other driver-support functions. The SUV also comes with nine airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and a high-strength body structure, offering enhanced protection for occupants.
Volkswagen has equipped the Tayron Life with a long list of premium convenience features. Buyers receive automatic climate control, keyless entry, push-button start, wireless charging, connected car technology, rear parking camera, front and rear parking sensors, and multiple driving modes. The SUV is engineered to provide excellent ride comfort for both city commuting and long-distance touring.
The launch of the Tayron Life strengthens Volkswagen's presence in India's premium SUV segment. The new model competes with rivals such as the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and other premium SUVs in the ₹40–50 lakh price bracket. By offering a lower entry price than the R-Line, Volkswagen hopes to attract buyers seeking luxury, technology, and German engineering without moving into a higher price category.

One of the major advantages of the Tayron Life is its local assembly in India. Local production helps Volkswagen keep pricing competitive while ensuring better availability of spare parts and after-sales support. It also reflects the company's long-term strategy to strengthen its premium product portfolio in the Indian market.
The 2026 Volkswagen Tayron Life makes premium German engineering more accessible by combining refined styling, a powerful turbo-petrol engine, advanced ADAS safety technology, and a feature-rich cabin at a competitive price. With its spacious five-seat layout, modern connectivity, and strong performance credentials, the new Tayron Life is well-positioned to appeal to families and enthusiasts looking for a premium SUV. Its launch further strengthens Volkswagen's SUV lineup and gives customers another compelling option in India's growing luxury SUV segment.
