 MG M9 Launched in India Luxury Electric MPV Sets New Benchmark
JSW MG Motor India has strengthened its premium electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of the MG M9 a luxury all-electric MPV that targets buyers seeking limousine-like comfort combined with zero-emission mobility. The flagship people mover has entered the Indian market with an introductory ex-showroom price starting at Rs 79.94 lakh, while the newly introduced MG M9 Couture Edition is priced at Rs 84.94 lakh (ex-showroom). The Couture Edition has been developed in collaboration with renowned fashion designer Gaurav Gupta and is limited to just 50 units, making it an exclusive offering.
The MG M9 is positioned as one of India's most luxurious electric MPVs and will be retailed through the company's premium MG Select dealership network. It is aimed at business leaders, luxury family buyers, and chauffeur-driven customers who want premium travel without compromising on sustainability.
MG M9 Features
The exterior design of the MG M9 reflects a modern and futuristic identity. A bold front fascia, sleek LED lighting, aerodynamic body lines, and large alloy wheels give the MPV an elegant road presence. The long wheelbase not only enhances the visual appeal but also creates an exceptionally spacious cabin for passengers.
Inside, the MG M9 focuses heavily on luxury. The second-row seats are the highlight of the cabin, offering aviation-inspired Ottoman seating with reclining, ventilation, heating, and massage functions. MG M9 Performance
Powering the luxury MPV is a 90 kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor that produces approximately 245 PS and 350 Nm of torque. MG claims a driving range of up to 548 km on a full charge under the MIDC cycle, making it suitable for long-distance travel as well as everyday urban use. Fast-charging capability enables the battery to regain significant charge in a relatively short time, adding convenience for customers who frequently travel between cities.
Safety
Passenger safety has also received significant attention. The MG M9 comes equipped with multiple airbags, electronic stability control, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and a 360-degree camera system. These technologies are designed to provide greater confidence for both chauffeurs and owners.
The newly launched Couture Edition adds a unique design identity inspired by haute couture fashion. Exclusive styling elements, premium handcrafted detailing, bespoke colour themes, and distinctive cosmetic enhancements separate it from the standard model. However, the powertrain and performance remain unchanged. With production capped at only 50 units, the Couture Edition is expected to attract collectors and buyers looking for exclusivity.
Technology
The MG M9 enters a niche but growing premium MPV segment where comfort, technology, and electric mobility are becoming equally important.
