Hyundai Motor India Records Highest-Ever Sales of 82,299 Units in October 2026, Growth Rises 17.7%
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has achieved a major sales milestone in October 2026, recording its highest-ever monthly sales of 82,299 units since beginning operations in India. The company registered impressive year-on-year growth of 17.7%, supported by strong domestic demand, festive-season purchases and increasing export volumes.
According to the company's latest sales announcement dated November 1, 2026, domestic sales reached 62,799 units, while exports contributed another 19,500 units. This performance highlights Hyundai's continued strength in India's competitive passenger vehicle market and its growing importance as an international manufacturing and export centre.
October Sales Performance Sets a New Record
October's total of 82,299 units surpassed the 69,894 vehicles sold in October 2025, adding 12,405 units year on year. Domestic sales increased 16.7% from 53,792 units to 62,799 units. Exports rose 21.1%, moving from 16,102 units to 19,500 units.
The monthly achievement also follows a record September, when HMIL reported total sales of 77,916 units. October therefore extended the company's recent momentum and lifted its monthly total by 4,383 units compared with September.
Festive Demand Supports Domestic Sales
Hyundai's record domestic volume suggests that its portfolio continued to attract buyers during this important period.
Customers typically consider vehicle purchases around major festivals, supported by new launches, retail offers and opportunities to upgrade. The company's October performance reflects the positive impact of festive-season demand on India's passenger vehicle industry.
Exports Strengthen the Overall Result
Hyundai shipped 19,500 vehicles to overseas markets during October, registering 21.1% annual growth.
The export business is strategically important because it allows the company to use its Indian manufacturing base to serve customers in multiple international destinations. Hyundai expects the newly launched Bayon to support its presence in India and more than 50 export markets, reinforcing the country's strategic role in its global plans.

What the October Figures Indicate
The latest numbers point to broad-based momentum: domestic sales grew by double digits, exports advanced by more than 21%, and the Venue reached a new monthly high. Together, these factors helped Hyundai deliver its strongest month since entering the Indian market.
Competition remains intense, especially in the SUV market, where manufacturers continue to introduce new products and updates.
Management's Outlook and the Road Ahead
Managing Director and CEO Tarun Garg said strong festive demand and healthy momentum in domestic and export markets helped Hyundai achieve its highest-ever monthly sales. He also highlighted the Bayon's expected contribution and India's role as a strategic manufacturing and export hub.
The next test will be whether demand remains firm after the festive period. November's figures should provide a clearer view of the sales trend.
For now, October's 82,299 units mark a historic achievement for Hyundai Motor India and provide a strong platform for its next phase of growth.
